Assignment

Introduction
Brazil is classified as a developing nation due to its Human Development Index score. Brazil is a large nation located in South America. It is well endowed with various natural resources. The Human Development Index score is determined by specific criteria including education, Life expectancy, availability of technology, availability of healthcare and income. Since 2015, Brazil has experienced a high increase in its Human Development Index score. Today, it is classified as a “high” HDI nation. This means that it is in the upper quadrant that contains the upper tier of developing nations.

Question 1
Brazil has previously experienced financial problems. The financial problems emerged due to dictatorial government and corruption. Both the IMF and World Bank interfered with the aim of reducing inflation and improving exchange rates. For a long time, the government of Brazil worked closely with the two institutions in its efforts to settle the foreign debt, but the country’s debt situation only deteriorated (Remmer, 2004). Prior to obtaining any help from the IMF and World Bank, the country had to accent to its state of affairs, which involved executing the Structural Adjustment Programs. The program involved taking measures including minimization the growth in the money supply, liberalizing its foreign exchange, eliminating subsidies, minimizing government spending and removing price controls among other measures (Chossudovsky, 2003).

The IMF and World Bank have offered various economic developments. The efforts have been criticized for neglecting the needs of the poor majority and prioritizing multinational corporations and wealthy lenders in the industrialization. In Brazil, the IMF and World Bank has intervened in domestic politics by supporting one side in the heated social debate. As a result, the institutions have interfered in the most political of decisions involving the allocation of national resources (Santiso, 2001). Hence, they have undermined Brazil’s national democracy.

Brazil has had to adhere to the conditions set by the institutions so as to sustain its economy. When Brazil liberalized its foreign market, the country recorded a considerable growth in imports. This is not healthy for the country’s advancing economy (Danaher, 1994). The significance of IMF conditions could help Brazil through access to outside markets for its agricultural products. However, Brazil still faces market barriers for its products (Mosley et al., 1995). The broad market opening affected Brazil’s trade deficit and devalued its currency. Under the guise of advancing “free trade,” financial stability and market liberalization, the two institutions have forced a reduction in education, health care, and other social services thereby increasing inequality and deepening poverty.

On the other hand, IMF and World Bank have assisted Brazil stabilizing its economy and eradicating its debt crisis. Through Washington Consensus sponsored by the two institutions, Brazil implemented a fiscal policy, aimed at development programs, reducing government salaries and cutting down public sector investment.

Question 2
For Brazil, healthcare is a priority. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the state to ensure that health facilities are available and funded. Healthcare is a constitutional right in Brazil. The Health Ministry carries out national health policy while both the government and private sector are responsible for the provision of healthcare. The effects of a healthy population on the economy are clear. First, a nation with a healthy population finds it attain sustained growth. The provision of primary healthcare enables prevention of diseases for the benefit of the economy (Santiso, 2001).

Secondly, the healthcare performance is linked to economic prosperity. A healthy population can achieve better productivity. Thirdly, a healthy population has a higher life expectancy. This is necessary for economic development. Investment in healthcare is important for economic growth given that healthy workforce is more delivers consistent production. The fourth is that a healthy population reduces the burden of illnesses and costs associated with health issues. This benefits the rapid economic growth. In order to achieve these, the Brazilian government provides a universal healthcare system that allows citizens to afford private healthcare. The system is non-exclusive and accommodates everyone, including visitors (Falleti, 2010). The problem with its health care system is that a substantial amount of spending on healthcare is private.

Question 3
Brazil has faced a number of difficulties in its healthcare financing. This has been linked with low investment from the government. Despite the situation, the country does depend much on foreign aid to support the provision of healthcare to its citizens. Foreign aid is largely used for servicing its debts. The British government is a key supporter of Brazil. The country has made a substantial step towards the reduction of HIV/AIDS and has surpassed the expectations of the World Bank Brazil has emerged as a leader in the exchange of expertise and resources among developing countries. Brazil’s portfolio of domestically developed interventions, including the public production of ARVs and CCTs has positioned the country’s aid’s regime to capitalize on improving the national balance sheet. In 2015, Brazil enacted new legislation requiring international private investors to purchase and operate healthcare facilities in the nation. Investment in healthcare by foreigners has become desirable due to a reduction in value of domestic currency.

Plan

My internship program at Kronsys Inc was purposely for acquiring the skills and experience of being an expert as an SQL programmer and developer. I began my program with the orientation to the company and training of the SQL Webpage development process aspects. The actions of the process were developed through the following several tires of primarily familiarizing me to the company SQL Web Application developers along with the overall Kronsys Inc management. The second division of the orientation and training process was the familiarization with the aspects of SQL Webpage development process. In this case, I had to develop a detailed program of reviewing the tutorials, guidebooks, and journals in preparation for the training. The training preparation is the basis for establishing the ground of easily capturing and understanding what entails in project development and overall SQL Webpage development process.

To facilitate the individual training preparations I made some consultations to the company SQL web Application Developer professional for the guidance on how I was to go about the process. The third tier of the program was to hold a meeting with the project manager and the SQL and PL/SQL administrators for the understanding of the skills desirable for an SQL Programmer and Web Application developer. The last tier was the training on the different aspects of SQL Webpage development process along with the best understanding of different phases of project development life cycle. The internship program was scheduled to take the duration of two weeks. The activities within the orientation and training phase of the project will be undertaken in a sequential manner to ensure that the deliverables are much helpful to my future career of being an SQL programmer and Web developer expert.

Action

As a new attachee within the Kronsys Inc, I made pre-visit to the company before the reporting day to have the easy understating of the physical organization and location of the different departments of the organization. I made a visit as an ordinary guest and got to have the knowledge of the terrain of the company. On reporting, I begun with the introduction to the company SQL Web Application developing staff. The process was essential for the creation of the relationship that will allow the teamwork during my overall activities that I undertook at the company. The familiarization process was done by the movement from one office to the other. The knowing of each other gave me the courage now to begin on the program by developing a schedule of how I was to understand the aspects of SQL Web Application development process. I collected the relevant materials relating to the concept. The materials I majored in were the journals and the textbooks alongside the online studying. This was the preparation for the training of the SQL Web Application development concepts.

I studied the concepts under the guidance of the SQL Web Application development professional whom I made regular consultations. The consultation was to provide the way forward in the areas that I was too special and take much focus. The actions were the roots of understanding the principles of SQL Web Application development process during the training. After the individual training, I held a meeting that was described as the meeting of company governing and operational policies principles and procedures. The project manager defined and elaborated the governance of the company to secure the right direction for me. The following actions were holding meetings as the project manager takes me through the training of the SQL Web Application development process and overall project development process phases.

Observation
Orientation carries its weight when it comes to new staffs within an organization. I deliberately made the company pre-visit because I wanted to take the shortest time possible for the orientation program. The pre-visit gave me the understanding of the strategic company organization. The design and location of the company were done professional since it is organized just by the mode of viewing. Orientation creates a motive of working as a team, in all cases teamwork has been the foundation of a company maintain productivity and improving on the same. At the same time, the quality of the products and services gets to grow as the employees work as a team (Mattson, 2015). The Kronsys Inc employees were welcoming, and they showed me the hospitality that I have never had before. They were all willing to work with and give the directions in all activities I was to perform. It was encouraging at that point.

As preparation mechanism to the training that I was to undergo before the other related activities, I took a step of familiarizing myself with the concepts of SQL Web Application development process. The materials opened my mind, and I captured the necessary information about the SQL Web Application development process and project development process phases. This knowledge got my training program successful as I stood to understand the ideas. The focus of the project manager was about the agile software development technology that we described as the technique that he does always apply in developing and implementing his projects. At that time, I was able to have an understanding of the skills that an SQL programmer and developer must possess. Some of the skills that I noted as the critical included the knowledge in Microsoft SQL server side developing that include the SSIS, SSRS, and SSMS. Others were the T-SQL stored procedures and the triggers, administrative database experience, and the.NET development experience (Conte & Cravitz, 2000).

Reflection
Descriptively, orientation process can only be enjoyed if the place of work is conducive in any case. The orientation program was done accordingly though there was an assumption that I know the location of some of the offices, meeting places and other relevant places. This came in mind that indeed it was a great idea to make pre-visit to the Company as it provided direction to what I was expected to undertake. The idea made the orientation process successful that I was taking to imagine (Arthur, 2012). The management of any project is under the leadership of project managers, and the project manager stands to make sure that all the personnel he applies in the project are productive. The principle was a necessity that I was too through training that indeed provided the clear understanding of the SQL Web Application development process concepts and an overall project development process phases. The training as well was successful by the fact that I had done through pre-training preparation of consulting about what is expected as an SQL programmer and developer.

At this point, I had acquired the necessary and required knowledge that I was to apply to the remaining part of the program. To have the practical workings, I had to acquire an SQL developer application that I was to apply in creating the database objects. Therefore, there was the necessity of installing the SQL developer.

My purpose of completing my thesis is so that I can get a chance to advance my studies and also have an opportunity of moving to the next level in my career. At the moment, in the job I am working, I tend not to earn sufficient income that will help cater for my needs. I am looking forward to work in a higher position that will provide me with the chance of earning a good amount of money. In doing this, I will be able to help my husband as I am planning to go back to England. Since my husband lives in England, my plan is that when I decide to go back to England, I will have earned enough money from my job that I will use and assist my husband in buying a house as we are planning to start a life there. My husband’s salary is not enough to cater for all expenses, which includes buying a house. As we all know, life in England tend to be very expensive and to own a house; there is a lot of money that is needed so as to purchase a good house. In most places in England, houses tend to cost an awful lot, and the wages have not been able to keep pace with inflation or raised the same as house prices. I am 47 years old, and I do not have children yet because my salary and that of my husband is not enough to cater for the needs that come with having a family. Although I am planning on having babies very soon, I want them to be raised in England, and I want to ensure that we have our house before bringing any life to this world. Therefore, my plan is to complete my MBA and use it so as to get a better job that will help me earn a good salary and be able to live a decent life together with my husband and our children. I want to have my children because there is no more time to wait as I will be reaching 50 very soon and my husband is already at his 50s. I believe that completing my MBA will have a significant impact on my life and because of this; I have committed all my time and effort to ensuring that I perform well in my studies.

When writing my thesis, I made sure that I observed all the instructions provided by my supervisor. At first, I wrote the project proposal describing the background of research, the aims, and the planned experiments. I made sure that I observed all the rules and regulations when writing a thesis. One important factor that I understood was the issue of plagiarism. Plagiarism tends to be a serious academic offense, and the school does have a strict rule regarding plagiarism. There are certain consequences for those who do not observe this rule as it can result in the immediate expulsion from the MBA program. So as to ensure that my thesis was up to standard, I considered submitting the thesis in two software so as to check for plagiarism. The software that I used was When I first checked for plagiarism, I realized that the paper had a high percentage of more than 25%. Therefore, I put effort to reduce the plagiarism rate to as low as 2% and finally got the result between 2% and 15%. When writing the thesis, my plan was to make sure that the work was original and no part of the thesis was copied from another source or students work except in areas where due acknowledgment was made. In addition to following the rules regarding plagiarism, I also made sure that I followed the requirements for working with human participants. Before doing the research, I made sure that I obtained ethical approval before starting my project. I ensured confidentiality of the participants, informed consent, and none of the participants were forced to participate in the study. By following all the guidelines and rules set when conducting a study involving human participants, I am confident that I did not violate any of the rules when doing my thesis. Before doing my thesis, I ensured that I understood all the policies and regulations involved and I believe that I did not violate any of the set rules.
